Simply McNamara: June 2015

Sunday we had the privilege of celebrating Claire's amazing daddy. It was a relatively calm day. We were both in a wedding the day before. We went to brunch with friends and then headed home. It was a very lazy day filled with Netflix and naps! Later in the day, my family came over and we grilled.

While the way we celebrated was nothing crazy, Claire and I are extremely crazy about her daddy! From the second he laid eyes on Claire, he was a dad. Not just a father, but a true dad. He loves Claire with his whole heart. When Claire was born, I saw a change in him instantly. I have never seen him fit into a role so easily and perfectly as he has fit into fatherhood. Anyone who sees Sean with Claire can see how much he loves her and cares for her. I knew he would be a great dad, but I never imagined how great he truly would be. We are so lucky to have such a kind, loving, silly, amazing man in our lives! Claire is the luckiest little lady in the world!

2 months have come and gone and our sweet Claire is getting bigger, sweeter, and more

social by the day! We love her so much! It feels like she has been in our lives forever, and at the same time I cannot believe it has already been 2 months!

Weeks 5-8

-Claire smiled at me for the first time at exactly 6 weeks and has continued to social smile since
-She focuses one peoples faces and looks them in the eyes.
-She loves the mobile/mirror on her swing.
-She loves fans ( especially at Nana and papa's).
-She holds her neck up very well when held upright.
-She is very lazy during tummy time on the ground! She has no interest in lifting her head and is very far from rolling over.
-She is still exclusively breastfed. She nurses ever 2 hours during the day. She nurses anywhere from 3-15 minutes.
-Claire will do a 4-6 hour stretch at night, then wake to nurse every 2 hours after.
-She is in size 1 diapers.
-She wears some newborn onesies and 0-3 month clothing.
-Following the eat, play, sleep schedule (this is her natural schedule)
-Had some baby acne but nothing major
-Celebrated first Mother's Day, Great Papa Spagnoli's birthday, went to the 1st grade picnic and my work, visted Daddy at work, saw cousin Giuliana's dance recital, and went out to eat multiple times,
-loves her big cousins Giuliana, Mia, and Thomas!
-facetimes with Boppa and Grandma!
-Rubs face and nose on my shoulder when she is tired
-Sleeps swaddled and in the cosleeper next to my bed.
-naps in bouncy chair or swing
-Still loves starting at blank walls
-Loves the car and stroller- falls asleep almost instantly!
-Loves bath time! She hates getting out but enjoys it more when we warm her towel in the drier.
- She spends much more time awake but still sleeps a lot!
-She likes "alone time." She gets fussy and if you lay her down on the couch, in her swing, bouncer, etc, she will be happy as a clam!
-Tends to be fussy the day after a get together.
-Plays with tongue (sticks it out more, smacks her lips)
-She grabs her face with her hands
-enjoys hearing Twist and Shout in the morning (daddy plays it)
-Smiley as soon as she wakes up!
-Gets very angry if mommy continues to try and feed her but she is done.
- My car was dead for 3 weeks of her 2nd month so we spent a lot of time stranded at home!
-Claire is a major homebody! She will fuss and cry when we are at someone else's house and is calm as ever as soon as we walk in the door!
